Doorstop, 2016

This doorstop concept was created during a summer class called Poetic Design. In this class each group was given a banal everyday object and asked to poetically redesign it.

Made from reclaimed spotted gum timber the doostop is conceptually derived from a dog-ear fold used to save the place in a book. A doorstop in a similar way, holds the door in place. This redesign provides the user with a new perspective on a very familiar object that leads to a greater appreciation for its purpose and role.
