‘Block’ resulted from a design challenge I set myself – to create a benchtop bottle storage solution using a faulty batch of wine rack pieces that were destined for the bin. Once I had the final shape finalised I covered it in some soft leather that was left over from a job I had worked previously.
The final result turned out looking kind of like a chocolate block but feels as though at any moment it could grow legs and run away like some kind of Harry Potter animal.
