Arvo Lounger, 2019

The Arvo Lounger was my Product Design (Honours) Degree project. We were given two semesters to complete a research-led design project of our own choosing which challenged current design conventions.

The Arvo Lounger explores Australian identity by asking whether there is a uniquely Australian approach to design. I did thi by identifying underlying values which resonate with Australian society I established a framework to help inform decisions throughout the design process. By facilitating a conversation about Australian design culture, it allows the opportunity for the foundations of a geographically-specific design aesthetic to emerge.

Made from stitched kangaroo leather offcuts, rusted steel, and Tasmanian Oak timber dowels.
