ABOUT

ME.

Industrial design was a course that instantly captivated me after the tutor at my highschool career’s fair told us he spent the whole day jumping in the ocean testing a new life jacket.

After completing the captsone project in the final semester of my Bachelor’s of Design in Integrated Product Design at UTS, I was compelled to enroll into an Honour’s course. This course gave me a year to complete research-led design project of my choosing and really opened my eyes to the world of design.

While at university I discovered a deep passion for furniture and object design. People’s homes are all very different and I have found that the furniture and the objects we surround ourselves with on a daily basis have an ability to convey deep elements of our identity. We all strive to create an aesthetic in our homes that we enjoy to be in every day and I think it says a lot about the individuals who curate it.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY.

My design philosophy revolves around functionality, simplicity and longevity. Where pieces complement the space they reside and are designed to last, not to be replaced.

With that in mind I believe designers lie at the forefront of changing the perceptions of waste and waste material in the eyes of the consumer. Meaning sustainability and the necessity to implement sustainable practices into our everyday lives as we move into the future is essential in any design practice.

SKILLS.

My skills within the design sphere include working with programs such as Solidworks, Keyshot, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro. I have a keen interest in photography and know my way around both digital & analogue cameras.

Most of all I thoroughly enjoy working with my hands and creating physical forms, may it be in a professional sense or for passion projects. The immense satisfaction I get from having nothing but an idea or sketch at the beginning of a design process and then holding something tangible at the end is why I followed this path.
